When you submit a report through our “Report a Case” form, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number, province and relationship to the child.
- The child’s first name or initials, age, province and municipality or district.
- A description of your concerns and any organisations you have already contacted.
- Details of any existing court matter, including the court name, case number and province.
- Supporting documents that you choose to upload, such as police reports, court documents, social worker reports, medical reports, photographs or audio and video recordings.
We do not collect more information than is necessary to review and respond to your report.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely for the purpose of:
- Reviewing and assessing your report.
- Determining whether and how we may be able to assist, provide guidance or advocate.
- Contacting you if further information is required.
- Identifying systemic or procedural concerns in child protection matters.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Information is shared only where necessary, appropriate, or required by law.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Reports and supporting documents are stored securely and are accessible only to authorised ChildWatch SA administrators. Uploaded files are held in private storage and are not publicly accessible.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Children’s Privacy
Information relating to children is treated with particular care. We collect only the minimum information necessary to understand and review the concerns raised. We do not publish or publicly display information that could identify a child involved in a report.
6. Data Retention
We retain reports and supporting documents for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were submitted, including any ongoing review, advocacy or accountability work, and thereafter in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Request that your personal information be deleted, subject to legal obligations.
